PROJECT NAME: 

„A guide to my hometown“ 



ABOUT THE PROJECT:

Everybody loves their hometowns. It's a sense of a care, love and pride that we usually have for our place we live in. There must be a reasons why is that so - places, peoples, childhood, memories. When we are proud of something, we usually like to talk about it, and share our positive thoughts and feelings with others. Just as we love ours, it is in human nature to be a curious. So, a project like this, would give a participants chance to share a knowledge and love for own hometown with others, same as they will get a knowledge about other cities as some ones hometowns. The pupils will be able to communicate in a foreign language and develop their digital competences through tasks in project.


AGE: 11-14

SUBJECTS: English, ICT, Art, History, Geography 

GOALS:
- meet peers from other countries

- introduce hometown to peers in project

- learn about new cities

- knowledge about other cultures

- the develop of digital competencies

- develop a sense of pride for everybody`s background

- improving communication skills in a foreign language


ABSTRACT: 
Pupils will introduce their hometown to other peers in project. They will learn about new towns and places that are characteristic for certain town. The pupils will be able to show all good places in hometown and what is in their opinion (with a little help of a teacher) worthy to see and visit. After all activities pupils will make an GoConqr for hometown same as e-book - a Guide for hometown.
At the beginning of the project the participants will introduce to each other through a short movie or presentation. After introduction they will discuss and agree what is important to say about their hometown. They will gather and make materials for GoConqr and e-book and make GoConqr about hometown. They will present it to each other and discuss about it. Everything they made will be in in the common e-book, a Guide for every hometown. The results of project (a Guide and GoConqr) will be presented at each partner school on the Day of school. Teachers, pupils, parents, local members and journalists will be invited on the Day of school and be able to see the GoConqr and the Guide for every town.


WORKPROCESS:
SEPTEMBER 

1. Introducing participants in the project - presenting their countries and themselves - presentation or video (ICT tools: Prezi, PowerPoint, PowToon etc., online face to face meeting)

OCTOBER - NOVEMBER

2. Participants discuss on places which will they present in their hometown in GoConqr (brainstorming) (ICT tools: open documents, online face to face meetings: eTwinning live events)
3. Participants make a draft of themes and places that will take place in GoConq and e-book (ICT tools: open documents, online face to face meetings: eTwinning live events)

DECEMBER - MARCH

4. Research time - participants gathers materials for making a GoConqr and e-book (texts, photos, making short videos of hometown)
5. Participants presents to each other materials and GoConqr for every hometown (setting on twin space) and giving feedback to each other
6. Participants discuss and agree what content will e-book have as a Guide

APRIL

7. Creating common digital book - A guide for all hometowns – e-book web tool: BookCreator

MAY

8. Presentation of project, its results a GoConqr and e-book on the school day


EXPECTED RESULTS: 

           
- the pupils learned about each other hometown 
- they developed respect for diversity and other cultures
- they learned to use an online tools GoConqr and BookCreator 
- they learned to use digital tools for making a movie, presentation, format text
- they improved their language skills in English
- they met online in safe environment a children from different European countries
- they participated in the creating the common online Guide for their hometown 


EVALUATION: 

- evaluation of students language skills

- evaluation of a project by students involved in
